Puppy Food
I raise my puppies on a premium puppy food called Bil Jac
Serving size 1/4 cup 4 times a day up to 6 months.
Serving size 1/4 cup 3 times a day up to 1 year.
Leave a bowl of Bil Jac through out the day for grazing.
For dinner you can include to the kibble plain boiled chicken cut into tiny bite size pieces and add it on top and also add the plain broth too.
You can add a small portion of green beans and sweetpotato (baked or boiled). Please do not over feed. Please do not switch food brands.
After 1 year you can transition to Bil Jac
adult toy breed or small breed dog kibble or switch to Purina Pro Plan small or toy breed kibble.
Treats
I like to use their kibble as a treat! I also recommend boiled chicken cut into bite size pieces, plain steak cut into bite size pieces, blueberries, baby carrots, green beans, sweetpotato baked chip. You can bake them or buy them, or just mashed it up, and plain yogurt on a spoon or as a food topping.
They love Bil Jac Little Jacs training treats. Please do not over feed. Good idea to break them in half.
Italian Greyhounds love to chew so I give mine Good 'n Fun Triple Flavor Twist. Or an empty water bottle. Please remove cap, ring, and label first.
Puppy Shots
The schedule:
6 weeks, 8 weeks, 12 weeks and 16 weeks. 1 year.
Heartworm
I recommend
IVERMECTIN HORSE PASTE every 30 days starting at 12 weeks old for the rest of their life.
Please watch my Youtube video for instructions.
Leash
I prefer a slip lead. Size 3/8" width 5' to 6' in length. Please watch my YouTube video for more information.
Grooming
Nails - Keep trimmed about every 2 weeks.
Bathing - As needed, for special occasion or if it gets dirty.
Teeth - After 1 year brush teeth with fine pumice and coconut oil. Mixed them together to make a paste. No rinsing.
Puppy Coming Home!
By law a puppy can go home to their new family at 8 weeks. I like to wait til 9 weeks if you come pick up in person and 10 weeks if you are hiring a flight nanny.
Jumping up and down from your bed/couch.
Good rule of thumb, if the puppy can jump up, then they can jump down. But if they can't jump up, then they are too small. Please use common sense. Do not put stairs because they might jump!
